Peter has played music since he was eleven and performed continuously in bands and solo since high school. Peter spent many years in a Detroit residency with the Goodtime Band at the Surfside Lounge. The band also toured Canada and the Northern States. Peter was known as the “Green-Eyed Prince of Soul” and the “Joe Cocker of Canada.” Bump
Peter has played music since he was eleven and performed continuously in bands and solo since high school. Peter spent many years in a Detroit residency with the Goodtime Band at the Surfside Lounge. The band also toured Canada and the Northern States. Peter was known as the “Green-Eyed Prince of Soul” and the “Joe Cocker of Canada.” Bumps Blackwell signed the Goodtime Band to Motown at the height of that label's fame but the contract didn't work out because of issues within the band. Peter performed briefly as the lead vocalist with Jimmy McCarthy and Johnny Badanjek of Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels after Ryder left that band. On moving west, Peter found his home in Venice, California. Peter started to write more of his own music and recorded several albums of original music and carefully curated songs that he covers with uniquely soulful renditions. He has performed at clubs, festivals, and events, and for forty years Peter has been a staple on the Venice boardwalk where his official office is Bench 5 at the Figtree Café. People from all over the world have enjoyed his music bringing his recordings on their travels and sending touching messages of appreciation: “the voice of humanity”, “best Hallelujah ever”, and more.
